Posture Awareness While Training

Posture or POST-ure, is the most important aspect of training to create a balanced physique and keeping the body free from injury.

In the science of posture, it tells us we must maintain the natural curve of the spine during strength training. This alignment allows the three main sections of the spine, cervical, thoracic and lumbar to function securely. It does so by distributing forces, the curve design preserves spinal components and improves mobility.

Incorrect posture can lead to a variety of issues, including sprains, strains and even joint dislocation. Suffering an injury due to improper spinal alignment can postpone one's progress in the gym and negatively impact the daily routines.

Correct posture while training prevents injuries. All the body functions more effectively when the joints are aligned. This cannot occur if proper posture is not present.

The muscles of the core assist the spine by providing support. A weak core will have a negative impact the spine. Union between the core and spine is most important if one is to exercise injury free.

Breathing is often overlooked but is key in aiding posture and alignment, please take in the section breathing while training.
