D.O.M.S - Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
Delayed onset muscle soreness is felt as pain, stiffness when touching or moving the muscles usually around 1 to 2 days after strenuous intense exercise that the muscles are not use to.
It is totally normal and is alot more intense when just beginning a weightlifting programme..
When doing squats for example, pushing beyond the levels of comfort, it can be a little painful sitting and getting off the toilet, the legs are very stiff and sore.
We usually find legs to be the most challenging, im sure many of you will notice if you haven't already....??
It is an injoyable pain, and for sure you know that your work out worked out!!!
Do not fear this, remember n0t to work the muscles if this is felt until it has gone..
Rest is very important for growth, strength and recuperation.
A REALLY GREAT FACT !!
EATING A WHOLEFOOD PLANT BASED DIET REDUCES THE LENGTH OF RECOVERY AND THE D.O.M.S DRAMATICALLY!!!
